Melbourne Highland Games & Celtic Festival |  26 March 2023

The Melbourne Highland Games & Celtic Festival traditionally holds a Ceilidh on the Friday evening preceding the Games.

This year the Ceilidh is combined with our Naming Launch and due to COVID restrictions numbers have been limited so the event is by invitation only.

Watch out for a bigger Ceilidh for you to enjoy in future years.

What is a Ceilidh?

Originally the word Ceilidh (kay-lee) descended from the Gaelic word for ‘gathering’ or ‘party’. Nowadays Ceilidhs are still held but they differ from those of the olden days. They feature Scottish folk music and dance and are sometimes held on special occasions, such as weddings. They are also held on regular basis in village halls throughout Scotland and the world.
